About the market
Thailand is a Tier 3 market with a large, mobile-first population and a lively consumer economy. Tourism, e-commerce, banking, telecoms, food and beverage, beauty and games are among the busiest advertisers, and regional marketplaces such as Shopee and Lazada run constant promotions that pull in ad demand. LINE is the dominant messaging app and a major channel for brands, so some advertiser budgets go there rather than to open-web or in-app inventory. Songkran, the Thai new year in April, and the big sale days, including Singles' Day in November and the December shopping events, are the busy points. The cooler season at the end of the year is peak tourist time, which helps travel content.
Android has a clear majority, with iPhones popular in Bangkok and among higher-income users. Thai is the language that matters. The script has no spaces between words, so check that text wraps and truncates properly in ads and layouts, and use a font that renders Thai cleanly. English works for a narrower urban group. The Personal Data Protection Act came into full effect in recent years and draws partly on GDPR, so consent and a clear privacy notice are expected. Thai users spend a lot of time on social video and games, which suits rewarded and video formats. Food, travel, beauty, football and entertainment content draw big audiences, and festival and holiday topics see predictable seasonal bumps.

Getting paid from Thailand
Thai publishers are usually paid by international bank transfer into a local account, with the bank converting dollars to baht. Many banks also offer foreign currency accounts so you can hold dollars. Banks may ask for the purpose of an incoming payment, so keep your network statements. Payment providers with receiving details are another option. Fees and options vary by bank, so check each network's payment settings and compare receiving charges first.
