Assumptions behind the estimate

Meta Audience Network brings advertisers from Meta's own platforms into apps, and it relies on that targeting to set its prices. The estimate multiplies three things: how many ads your users see, what each thousand of them pays, and how often Meta has an ad to serve. The table below lists the Android baseline eCPM for each format and region tier, before category and platform adjustments.

  • Fill rate: Meta is modelled at 80% blended across regions, below AdMob at 88%, so roughly one request in five comes back empty.
  • Formats: rewarded video, interstitial, banner and native are available. App open is not offered for Meta in the model, so that card is disabled and counts as zero. Native starts switched off.
  • Native strength: Meta's native baseline is the highest of the mobile networks on this site, at about $4.20 in Tier 1 against $3.50 for AdMob. Its rewarded baseline is lower, at about $10.50 against $12.00.
  • Platform and category: iOS audiences earn 1.3 times the Android baseline, and category multipliers run from 0.8 for hypercasual games to 1.6 for finance apps.
  • Range: the low and high figures are 0.7 and 1.35 times the expected number, a wide band that reflects how much real months vary.

The iOS multiplier is the same for every network, so the model does not try to capture how App Tracking Transparency affects targeted demand. If most of your users are on iOS, read ATT and iOS ad earnings and lean on the low end of the range. The methodology page explains where the baselines come from.

Example scenarios

Here are three apps of different sizes. Each runs through the same engine as the calculator above, with Meta's eCPMs, 80% fill and the multipliers described earlier.

Three example inputs and the monthly estimate the engine returns
ScenarioInputsMonthly estimate
Small utility appAn Android utility app with a mixed-region audience that skips rewarded video and shows native cards in its main list.Android, Utility App, 3,000 DAU, Balanced global mix, 4 sessions a day, formats: Interstitial, Banner, Native$1,306$914 to $1,762
Growing iOS casual gameA casual iOS game with a Tier 1 lean, the default video formats and a single native card on the results screen.iOS, Casual Game, 20,000 DAU, Tier 1 lean, 3 sessions a day, formats: Rewarded video, Interstitial, Banner, Native$23,544$16,481 to $31,785
Large social appAn Android social app with a balanced global audience, a feed full of native placements and light interstitial use.Android, Social / Lifestyle, 150,000 DAU, Balanced global mix, 5 sessions a day, formats: Interstitial, Banner, Native$103,769$72,638 to $140,088

Compare the rows with each other instead of reading any one as a forecast. Apps without a reward loop, such as the utility and social examples, lean on native and banner income, which is where Meta's format mix is most useful. To test your own inputs, use the main calculator, and see rewarded vs interstitial if you are deciding on full-screen formats.

Getting paid by Meta Audience Network

Methods
Bank transfer; typical terms, confirm in your own account

Meta Audience Network pays monthly once the previous month's earnings have been finalised, with a threshold of around $100. Below that, the balance rolls forward. Payment is usually by bank transfer. These are typical terms at the time of writing, so confirm the current ones in your own account before planning around a date.

Set up your payout and tax details as soon as the account is approved, since a payment can be held while details are missing or under review. If your bank is outside the US, fees and exchange rates can take a visible share of small payments. Receiving ad payouts abroad compares the options.

How most apps reach Meta demand

Meta sells its app inventory through bidding, so most developers connect it through a mediation platform rather than running it alone. The platform holds an auction in which Meta competes with other networks for each impression. Bidding vs waterfall explains how that auction works, and the Meta Audience Network developer documentation lists the current integration options.

This page models Meta on its own, which is useful for judging what it brings to the auction. To see a bidding-led setup with several partners blended into one number, try the AppLovin MAX calculator or the ironSource LevelPlay calculator. The Meta Audience Network guide covers setup and approval in more detail.

Meta Audience Network FAQ

Why can I not switch on app open ads for Meta?

The model does not assign Meta an eCPM for app open, so the engine counts it as zero and the interface disables the card. If an app open slot matters to your plan, the AdMob calculator models it, and a mediation setup can fill that slot from another network.

Is Meta a good fit for apps that are not games?

It can be. Utility, social and lifestyle apps often have no natural place for rewarded video, and Meta's native baseline is the highest of the mobile networks modelled here. Switch rewarded off in the calculator, turn native on, and compare the result with other networks on the home calculator.

Why does Meta fill fewer requests than AdMob in this model?

Meta is modelled at 80% fill and AdMob at 88%. Demand built on targeting has less to work with when a user cannot be matched, so more requests go unfilled. In a mediation auction, other networks can pick up the requests Meta passes on. Fill rate explained covers why this matters.

Do iOS users earn more on Meta than Android users?

The calculator applies the same 1.3x iOS multiplier to every network. Targeted demand on iOS also depends on how many users allow tracking, which the model does not capture. Read the iOS figure with some caution, and plan around the low end of the range until you have your own data.

Should I add native ads if my app already shows banners?

It is worth testing. In the model, Meta's Tier 1 native baseline is about $4.20 per thousand impressions against $0.85 for a banner, so one well-placed native card can earn as much as several banner views. Banner volume rises with sessions per day, while native is counted per user per day, so apps with many short sessions should compare both before dropping either.
