About the market

Egypt is the most populous Arabic-speaking country and a Tier 3 market in our tables. That makes it a key audience for Arabic content and apps, even though rates per impression are modest. Telecoms, consumer goods, real estate and e-commerce brands advertise here, Arabic-language campaigns aimed at the wider region can also reach Egyptian users, and Ramadan is the busiest advertising season of the year.

Android has a very large majority, with iPhones a small premium segment. Arabic is written right to left, so layouts, ad placements and native ad styling need testing in a right-to-left view to avoid broken or overlapping units. Many Egyptian users browse mainly on mobile data, so lighter pages help. Religious, educational, football and cooking content is popular, and long-form video and social content attract large, loyal followings. Because Arabic speakers span many countries, check your traffic by country rather than by language: readers in different Arabic-speaking markets can be priced very differently.

Getting paid from Egypt

Egyptian publishers usually receive payments by international transfer into a bank account, converted to pounds unless they hold a US-dollar account, which many local banks offer. The currency has moved sharply in recent years, so the timing of conversion can matter. Fees and options vary by bank, so check each network's payment settings and ask your bank about incoming transfer charges.

All figures come from our benchmark tables: Android eCPMs by tier, category or niche multipliers, modelled fill and the iOS multiplier. They are estimates for planning, not quotes.
